Five For October Mixtape

It’s technically the end of October but better late than never to present you with the next mixtape, right? Here’s five songs that have captured my attention this month.

Colourwheel – The Dreamer
New Zealand born, Melbourne based musician Brady Daniell-Smith performs as Colourwheel. Evocative and beautifully crafted, ‘The Dreamer’ is well worth a listen.

Japanese Wallpaper – Breathe In (Ft Wafia)
A gorgeous ambient tune featuring the soft vocals of Brisbane’s Wafia.  This is the first single from the 16 year-old, and we can only hope Japanese Wallpaper continues to create music for many, many years.

Jack R Reilly – It’s Too Late I’m Already Awake
Soft spoken vocals and heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics, singer-songwriter Jack R Reilly is onto something good.

Little May – Hide
The second single from Sydney indie/folk three-piece, Little May. What’s not to love? Gentle vocals matched with flawless harmonies and rollicking percussion.

Archaeologist – Always Known Each Other
This Brisbane band dropped their debut EP a few weeks back, ‘Always Known Each Other’ is a current favourite.  The whistling had me hooked from the start. The rich vocals, sweet harmonies and instrumentation have me tapping my foot along to the tune.
