Hailing from the Blue Mountains, Cloud Control have accomplished a fair bit over the past few years. From winning the 2008 SMAC award for Best Music Newcomer to signing to Ivy League Records to supporting the likes of Josh Pyke to playing the Great Escape in the UK. Not to mention numerous amounts of gigs and raving reviews in between. Now adding to those accomplishments Cloud Control’s debut album Bliss Release will hit the shelves next month.
Consisting of Ulrich Lenffer, Jeremy Kelshaw, Heidi Lenffer and Alister Wright, you may already be familiar with the sounds of Cloud Control. Having released two EPs (Self Titled, Death Cloud) Gold Canary, the first single from the album was released late last year. It received strong support, not only from Triple J but was Single Of The Week on BBC6’s Rebel Playlist as voted by UK listeners and by British music website Drowned In Sound.
To tie fans over until May 14th, the second single This Is What I Said has hit the airwaves, it seems to encapsulate the direction of the new album, whilst keeping the upbeat, catchy approach Cloud Control have mastered – you’ll be singing along to the ‘yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeahs’ in no time. Now available to buy on Itunes with b-sides Warrior and Gold Canary (Seekae remix), it features artwork by the always amazing Greedy Hen.
Having had the opportunity to see Cloud Control live again, this year at the album preview at the Toff in Town and at The Corner Hotel supporting Yves Klein Blue (thank you Cloud Control!) It’s no secret I am eagerly awaiting May 14th as should you be.
