At only 18 years of age, Jackson McLaren has already begun to make his mark on the Australian music scene, with The Swell Season, Howie Day and Gin Wigmore among the growing list of bands and musicians Jackson’s supported. Add to that being the support act for one of Josh Pyke’s regional gigs which later resulted in Josh Pyke producing his debut EP. Jackson also supported Pyke on his national tour earlier this year.
Having had downloaded a few of Jackson’s demos last year, i eagerly awaited the EP and with tracks like Farewell This House and At Least We See The Same Moon i wasn’t disappointed, his raw and honest style a refreshing addition to my music collection. That being said i look forward to future releases, with demos such as Little Red Rose suggesting this EP is just a glimspe of Jackson’s talent and there’s more to come.
His self titled debut EP is out June 27th (on Itunes now) and is available to stream online at his myspace page. Jackson will also be hitting the road for an EP Launch tour;
